Automations

An automation is an instruction you write yourself and schedule, and the AI carries it out on the site. You describe the work in plain language — the same way you would ask for it in chat — and choose when it should happen: once, or every day, week or month. They live in the app under a site's Automations area.

Writing one

An automation is a prompt plus a schedule. The prompt is whatever you would normally ask for: publish an article on a topic, refresh a page, summarise the month's form submissions, update seasonal details. The schedule is either a single moment or a repeating one, on the days and at the hour you pick. An automation can be turned off and back on without losing it, and edited at any time.

SEO content, as an example

Publishing search-optimized articles on a regular cadence is one of the most common uses. An automation such as "write and publish a blog post on a topic our customers ask about, in our usual voice", set to run monthly, keeps a site producing fresh, indexable content with nobody drafting it. Because pages are server-rendered, each new article is crawlable as soon as it is live. How those pages then perform in Google is covered by rank tracking, under analytics.

Other things to automate

  • Content upkeep — refresh prices, opening hours, or seasonal copy.
  • Summaries — turn last month's reviews or submissions into a section on a page.
  • Campaigns — publish a landing page ahead of a dated event.
  • Reviews — check a set of pages and report anything that looks out of date.

What you get back

Every run is recorded, and you get an email with what the AI did — or, when it could not run, the reason. A run that changes the site counts against the site's monthly allowance of AI edits, exactly like a change you request yourself.

Not the same as background jobs

Automations are instructions to the AI about a site's content. Background jobs are code the site itself runs on a schedule — nightly cleanups, digests, data syncs. Use an automation when you want the AI to change the site; use a background job when you want your own code to run.

Availability

Automations are part of the Business plan; agency-owned sites include them.
